I have been practicing yoga since June 2008. An unhealthy work/life balance plus a shoulder injury somehow led me to yoga and from thereon I became hooked on its amazing array of postures (Asanas) and other practices, non-competitive nature, healing properties and deeper meanings. Initially I thought it was just a 'bit of stretching'. What an underestimation that is :)
I met a wonderful teacher Bryan Bayley who immediately encouraged me to apply for the one year British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course led by respected and experienced Tutor Jayadhara. I completed this in 2010. I studied my books and myself hard (and still do!), also attending hundreds of Satyananda style classes with Bryan and Hatha classes with Angie Boyer as well as stronger Ashtanga Vinyasa classes with Ann-Marie Mainprize of Amiyoga.
This, combined with hours of personal practice on and off the mat enabled me to start to teach in 2012 in order to share the remarkable benefits of yoga with TWS’s clients. This includes a variety of private lessons in our studio, in addition to public classes. I also have particular expertise within organisations such as businesses and also schools, where I work with teaching staff, training them on mindfulness and yoga to increase productivity and prevent or reduce stress.
I am now the holder of the industry leading three year British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma which I completed under Tutor Jayadhara in June 2016. This Diploma is the highest academic Yoga Teacher Qualification in the UK and blends traditional meditation & pranayama with the more well known posture (Asana) aspects of yoga.
